I heart Awesome Theatre

Over the last five years, Awesome Theatre has worked to create “theatre for people who didn’t know they liked theatre.” That sentiment has helped us to hone in on our true mission of producing NEW plays by LOCAL playwright that are also wonderfully and perfectly WEIRD. It's a formula we stand by and our audiences come hungry for.

With 2018 being our first year in house at Pianofight we brought some fantastically absurd, hilarious, and terrifying plays to the bay area. This featured the Finals of our Playwriting contest (In Search Of) THE FUNNIEST PLAY EVER, a whole new theatrical experience with THURSPLAYS, a one hour late(ish) night “Strange and Unusual Plays for Strange Unusual People”, and the third installment of our Horror-Theatre Double Feature TERROR-RAMA III.

We are ecstatic to continue our residency at Pianofight with our 2019 season. 

The goal of the "I Heart Awesome Theatre" campaign is to raise just $5,000. This 30 day campaign is to ensure that Awesome Theatre begins the year with a big part of our budget already in the bank. $5,000 is just 16% of our operating budget, but by helping us reach our goal you are telling us not only "I Heart Awesome Theatre", but "I Heart Paying Actors" and "I Heart Paying Rent" and "I Heart Baby Dolphin Puppets with little cute tufts of brown hair and eyes that see into my soul!"

Due to our penchant for paperwork, Awesome Theatre is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization.  Which means a portion of your donation (amount determined by level of donation) is tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Seriously though...none of the projects we’ve created would have been possible without the support we’ve already had, and as we move forward, we want to continue creating even more of the exciting original content that you’ve all come to expect from us. Any support you can give us; goes a long way. Five $50 donations covers a designers materials budget, Ten $25 donation pays an actors stipend, one $800 donation covers our tech week rent (Just sayin).
